Robinson has long been a proud partner of the Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC). The two-year college provides education and training in the trades, making it an ideal partner for Robinson whose commitment is to fill the pipeline of welding and fabrication jobs in Wisconsin with skilled workers.
Robinson’s passion to further employee skills and the State’s economy has not gone unnoticed. In 2023, the company received the Futuremaker Partner Award from NWTC and the Wisconsin Technical College System (WTCS) Board. “Manufacturing in Northeast Wisconsin is strong because of companies like Robinson,” said NWTC President Jeff Rafn. “They truly share our commitment to building a highly skilled workforce and strong communities.”
The Futuremaker Partner Award recognizes the unique, long-standing connections between the State’s employers and local technical colleges. Robinson supports an apprenticeship program in the local high schools, provides hands-on experience in welding, fabrication and design to secondary students, offers tuition assistance and flexible scheduling for employees attending NWTC, and funds scholarships for local college bound students.
Robinson was also honored in 2021 by NWTC. The college named Robinson as the 2021 Soar Higher Partner Award recipient for its commitment to the education and workforce development of the region’s manufacturing base.
In 2018, Robinson began a commitment in support of the NWTC Foundation scholarship program. In honor of their support, the NWTC lab was named Robinson, Inc. Welding Lab. In 2017, the NEW Manufacturing Alliance—a group of manufacturers, working with educators, workforce development, chambers of commerce, and state organizations to promote manufacturing in Northeast Wisconsin—presented Robinson with its Educational Partnership Award, in part for the company’s involvement with De Pere High School’s apprenticeship program.
Robinson is pleased to call NWTC “partner” and looks forward to its continued partnership—helping to grow skills and the economy.
